Known to mankind early as 2000 BC. In ancient Egypt cinnamon was used commonly in temples and emblem mummies. Cinnamon cassia is native to China, however true cinnamon could found in Sri Lanka, India & Bangladesh. Arab traders who have paved the true cinnamon to Europe.
Cinnamon characterized as ever green plant, commonly grown in south part of Sri Lanka.in order to harvest cinnamon sticks, the bark and middle bark are removed, this leaves the inner thin bark which automatically rolls up by itself due to evaporation of moisture inside the bark.
Ceylon Cinnamon widely used as a food ingredient, in cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. It contains powerful medicinal properties like, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, improve sensitivity to insulin, protect against heart disease.
